Our skilled groomers/pet stylists are experienced with all breeds of dogs. We do not groom cats.
Our basic grooming includes a bath with the shampoo and conditioner most suited to your dog and a blueberry facial. It also includes the clipping of nails and cleaning of the ears and eyes and other sanitary clean-up as well as a haircut and/or brush-out. Our minimum charge for a basic groming is $50. Please call us for an approximate price.
It should be noted that while we try to perform the above in as little time as possible, many factors will affect how fast we can finish your dog:
1. Your dog may need to get pre-clipped if matting is to be removed before the bath.
2. When no pre-clipping is necessary, your dog will get a bath within 15 minutes of arrival.
3. Drying: we hand-dry the excess water on the dog until it is just damp. Then he or she can continue drying while relaxing in a crate with room temperature air flow. WE DO NOT USE HEATED CAGE DRYERS. Since there is no heat involved, this drying process can be quite lengthy, about 30-45 minutes for a small dog with short hair and up to 2 hours for a Golden. We strongly feel that allowing the dog to calmly dry in a crate instead of drying him all the way through with the hand-dryer is LESS STRESSFUL for most dogs. For your dog's comfort and to maintain optimal drying conditions, the ambient temperature is always kept at about 70-72 degrees.
4. Once the dog is almost completely dry, we can proceed with fluffing the coat and performing the haircut and/or brush out. Dogs that need a good brush-out such as labs, huskies, GSDs, Aussies, etc. will get up to an hour of brushing if tolerated.
These many steps require that most dogs remain with us for an average of 4 hours. If necessary, we may be able to finish a small dog in 2 hours by fully hand-drying him.
